Somewhere in the middle of the past twelve months, just as the blogosphere was crowding its way into the public debate, I quietly re-discovered books. In a recent NY Times column, Maureen Dowd took offense at the different blogging styles of the candidates, describing them at various turns as self-serving, cheesy, and dull. Why such criticism merits 500 words in the New York Times however, is beyond me.
