In case you’ve somehow missed the news, you can now register for the National Do Not Call List. The registration is good for five years and prevents most telemarketers from calling you. The registery doesn’t cover political organizations, charities, telephone surveyors, or companies with which you already have an existing relationship, but it should go a long way towards ending all those annoying dinnertime offers for credit cards, long distance plans, and home refinancing.
Now if we could only get the same thing for spam. Bills are pending in the House and in the Senate.
